Lippmann Moses Büschenthal (1784 in Strassbourg – 27 December 1818) was a German rabbi, poet and dramatist. His biography is not well known, and conflicting statements regarding his life are found; he appears to have lived in Breslau from c. 1814, and moving to Berlin, where he may have become chief rabbi, shortly before his death.〔 Walter Killy (ed.): Deutsche Biographische Enzyklopädie, 1999, vol. 2, p. 213; Hamberger, ''Das Gelehrte Teutschland'', vol. 22 (1829)() ; Hoefer, ''Nouvelle biographie universelle'', vol. 7, Paris, 1853 ()〕 He published mainly poetry, including Hebrew translations of German poetry, and one dramatic work.
